1 (866) 409-WINE (9463)
Medium straw color with intense honey comb and jasmine notes, backed with coconut and lychee aromas. The ripe palate expresses tropical nuances and nectary fruit profiles. The finish is juicy and backed with elegant French Oak and silky Tahitian vanilla flavors.
This wine is an excellent aperitif and exceptional with sashimi dishes like warm Hamachi with daikon and ginger, or green tea leaf steamed bass on a bed of jasmine rice with soy infused seaweed.
This Viognier comes from the Vista Verde Vineyard located in the hills just north of the Pinnacles in San Benito County. The grapes were hand-picked, whole cluster pressed and cold fermented in small French Oak barrels. This wine has undergone partial malo-lactic fermentation and was aged Sur Lies for 9 months.
87 Points, Wine Enthusiast:
"A fun wine that straddles that familiar California line between sweetness and dryness. The structure comes from acidity and minerals, while the richness is all about exotic tropical fruits, flowers and honey. S.H." (10/1/2009)
87 Points, Wine Spectator:
"Delivers a core of ripe peach, juicy and full-bodied, focused and aromatic with toasty notes. Details of apricot, apple blossom and spicy notes come in on the finish. Drink now through 2012. 450 cases made. –MW" (2010)
