Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation Napa Valley

Whitehall Lane is a small, family owned winery in Napa Valley's historic Rutherford appellation and continues to receive accolades and awards for producing some of the greatest wines in the world. In Wine Spectator Magazine's year-end ranking of wines, Whitehall Lane has been honored an unprecedented three times in five years for producing wines rated among the top five in the world. The winery has also been voted Winery of the Year from the Quarterly Review of Wines and Wine and Spirits Magazine.

This 2005 Reserve displays the finesse, smoothness and power that has become the signature for Whitehall Lane Cabernet. It's a wine with aromas and flavors of ripe wild blackberries, cassis and an underlying spiciness from French and American oak. This delicious Reserve offering displays great balance, ripeness and offers lingering flavors that lead to a long, silky smooth finish. Enjoy to 2020.

Where: Michael Chiarello's Bottega Restaurant in Napa Valley
Whom: The Winetasting.com team with friends and guests from Canton, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois
Review: We tasted this wine alongside seven other premium red wines (pictured above) from California, Italy and France. While they were truly all fabulous, the Whitehall Lane was the clear winner from California. The rich nose of blackberry, cassis and toasty oak transferred beautifully onto the palate which was supported by elegant tannins and a rich mouthfeel. A beautiful wine and an absolute shame that only 6 cases remain!
