Our latest “Autism Wine” called Cahuin Winemaker’s Selected Red is a special cuvee that was developed by Don Manuel Villafañe.
Cahuin Winemaker’s Selected Red is a blend of 40% Tempranillo, 40% Sangiovese and 20% Malbec. The Sangiovese adds the lovely red fruit, the Tempranillo adds earthy and rich notes, and the Malbec gives the wine its depth of fruit and body.
DON MANUEL VILLAFAÑE is a boutique winery that was started by Tomas Machado de Villafañe in 2002, focusing on a small and exclusive production of Estate vineyards growing in the foothills of the Andes in Maipu.
Tomas Machado de Villafañe´s family has been in the wine business for the last 400 years.
In 1611 Don Manuel Villafañe arrived to Argentina from Spain as a soldier to fight the English pirates who attacked the Spanish vessels. Later he settled as a farmer and pioneered the viticulture of Argentina by being one of the first person planting vineyards in the country. The objective was to supply wine to the Catholic priests and later to the “Colonos” (immigrants) who came to the “New World” seeking new opportunities of development.
Our Cahuin is paired beautifully with most pasta dishes, red meats, and definitely anything off the grill. Serve your bigger cheeses with this wine such as bleus, Camemberts, etc.

Showing bright red colors, this Argentine Cabernet Sauvignon exudes attractive aromas of cedary oak and vanilla coffee beans. Flavors of cherry, black currant, raspberry and sweet pepper flood the mouth along with elegant and complex notes of vanilla. Tannins are powerful but sweet.

Gorgeous deep red color with violet tones. Opens with aromas of raisins, plums and raspberries with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it repeats with layers of black currant and cherries supported by mocha and mineral notes. Balanced and well structured with a supple and long finish.
